Young residents with LLTCs are vulnerable since they are young and disabled; their life span can also be reduced and uncertain. Kids are considered to be “incomplete, irrational, unproductive, and asexual whereas grownups are noticed to be complete, logical, effective, and sexual” (Liddiard & Slater). Young residents are in the “border area” between child and adult and therefore especially vulnerable (Lesko). Past studies have demonstrably founded the means that disabled folks are marginalized and infantilized (Shakespeare et al.). Disabled individuals, but especially young disabled individuals whoever life are restricted and uncertain, are regarded as generally vulnerable in a variety of ways. For instance, they’ve been viewed as at greater threat of punishment, they’ve been often regarded as hypersexual, and so are sensed to stay in need of safeguarding measures (Blackburn). The possibility weaknesses for this group further intersect because of the taboos of sex and death.
