This is apparently a concern mostly among men-women, for reasons uknown, are not half as afraid of lesbians-but it is a common refrain among homophobes attempting to stoke homosexual panic. The gay-shower example arises whenever community debate transforms to gays in activities, plus it has also been a concern through the argument over “don’t query, do not tell,” which includes members of the armed forces indicating split showering amenities for gay and right troops.
