Most useful Lake Camping in Washington
(It also involved picking ticks off when getting out of the pond. If there’s one thing I don’t miss in regards to the Midwest, it is the selection of ticks!)
A friend recently asked me for the recommendation on a few lakefront that is great in Washington, also it got me personally thinking. We don’t consider the Northwest as having a lot of lowland lakes like state, Minnesota, but when I started initially to record off the best lakeside campgrounds within the state We knew you can find quite a few of those. And then I decided record was t great not to share with everyone.
Listed here are my top picks for places to pitch your tent beside a lake in Washington. See a few of these plotted for a map right here.

Moran State Park, Orcas Island
Ch se a freshwater lake to camp on – there are two main. This 5,200-acre park has very little although visitors might expect a huge state park in the San Juan Islands to have saltwater shoreline. But Moran State Park does have four freshwater lakes, old-growth forest, hiking tracks and its particular mountain (Mt. Constitution, and you may hike to your top). My favorite spot to camp at the park are at hill Lake where you’ll obtain a little more privacy. Ferry lines can be quite a bear in summertime, you could walk on together with your camping pay and gear just $12 round-trip to take the Orcas Island Shuttle to your park.
